  • Games: Saturday at 10:30 am or 1:30 pm (Time adjustments can be made)

Our program is designed for every child to get lots of playing time and touches on the ball during the approximate 1 hour training/practice session.  We have licensed and experienced coaches who lead the training sessions who focus on skill development, good sportsmanship and fun.

  • Each age division practices as a group in the Fall (September-November) and Spring (April-June).
  • Each player should bring the following to games and practices
    • a size 3 soccer ball
    • soccer cleats
    • shin guards
      • Shin guards are mandatory for both practice and games. No exceptions for the safety of your child.
    • Soccer socks (must cover the shin guards)
    • Shorts (training pants maybe worn as it gets colder – same color as uniform short)
    • Water to enjoy during breaks
  • A uniform will be provided containing a team jersey, shorts and socks
    • Uniforms are distributed to coaches at a general meeting  in early September for the fall season.   For players who sign up for the spring season – uniforms will be provided by the coaches during the first week of the spring season

When you register your child in the spring/summer you are registering for both following fall and spring seasons.   Once registered you will receive information via email from the club about uniforms, and start times/dates for the upcoming season in late August.

  • During the practice – a licensed coach, with the help of parent volunteer coaches, will lead the players through fun games and exercises to develop dribbling, passing, defending, and shooting skills. Each player should have their own size 3 soccer ball to insure lots of touches on the ball.
  • During the games – players will be organized into groups of 3 (U6) or 4 (U7) players per team and assigned a field and volunteer coach, lots of playing time for each player.
  • Play is 3 v 3 (U6) or 4 v 4 (U7) – 1 defender, 1 or 2 midfielders, and 1 offensive player. Try to have the defender and the offensive player stay on their half of the field. Rotate the kids through each so at the end of the game they have played in each of the 3 positions. Try to maintain the level of skills on each field in balance – shift kids between fields as necessary to maintain a healthy competitive level.
  • Game time is 10 minute quarters ( 4 x 10 minutes)
    • U7 moves to the U8 fields in the spring, and introduces a goalkeeper. In addition game time switches to two, 25 minute halves (2 x 25 minutes) and referees!
  • Coaches are permitted on the field with the primary mission to insure proper player positioning. There should be one coach per field per team. If you can step off the field and allow the kids to play later in the season that is great!
    • U7 Spring NO coaches are allowed on the field and possible later game time changes
    •  Goal kicks and throw ins – as directed by the coach.
    • Goalies – none for U6 or U7
  • General U6/U7 EFSC Rules (in conjunction with FIFA rules)

Volunteer coaches are needed and necessary – please consider volunteering to coach – no soccer knowledge is necessary just a positive attitude and there is no cost to do so.
