Registration Questions

Learn more about Registration

Why is registration so early for a Fall sport?

Believe it or not, registration has always been in June.  Previously, registration occurred over a period of a few nights, in person, you can imagine the lines for a club our size.  The difference now is that registration is digital and we can extend the registration period from late April through June 30.

In addition, we need time to find volunteers to Coach teams; order uniforms; team schedules made etc. Remember we’re volunteers, and need a vacation from soccer and work!

Registration was open and I registered after June 30, what happens now?

Your son/daughter will be placed on the waitlist and if there’s room on a team they will be placed to play in the Fall.  If there are no spots on a team, they will be held on the waitlist for the Spring and again if a place is open they will be invited to play via email. The waitlist is cleared after this time and a new registration is required for the following Fall/Spring season.

The registration site remains open through April the following year, for Spring registrants.

Can I get the Early bird discount after May 31st, I had computer issues?

No, registration has been open since late April

Why is my son/daughter waitlisted?

EFSC waitlists all players, until we can determine the number of Coach volunteers and from this the number of teams we can field by division.  All registrations are date/time stamped and players are taken in order, the exception to this is a Coach volunteering their time (and their child).

What does the soccer season registration cover?

Registration in late Spring is for BOTH the following Fall (Sept-Nov) and Spring (Apr-Jun) seasons. If you register in Spring, that covers that season alone.

Do I need to register every year, my son/daughter played last soccer year?

Yes.  Registration is only for that Fall/Spring or Spring season.  In addition circumstances change e.g. you move away, schedule doesn’t work, player wants to try a new sport, etc.

I was on the waitlist last soccer year, so I’m waitlisted for the following Fall/Spring right?

Wrong, the waitlist is ONLY for the Fall/Spring or Spring season you registered.

What information do I need to register?

You cannot complete the registration process without images of the following. Please ensure file sizes do not exceed 3MB (file format: jpeg, jpg, png, pdf only)

Every player, annually:

  • Recent photo (file format: jpeg, jpg, png)
  • Proof of residency – utility/tax bill
  • Completed Medical Release

First time player registration:

  • Birth Certificate (Needs to show player name/DOB)

PLEASE ensure you read all questions and answer appropriately, during the registration.

A registration is NOT complete, until ALL steps of the registration process have been completed, including “add to waitlist” and entering credit/debit card information.

I can’t complete my players registration, help!

  1. Please ensure you have registered the player for the correct age division.

If registering to Coach, or a player for another Intramural program, you MUST use the appropriate registration link, otherwise they are NOT registered for soccer. There are differing registrations in the Intramural Program e.g.

  • Kickers and Me (U3/U4)
  • U5 – U10 – Intramural Development Program
  • U11 – U19 – Limited Distance Travel Program (LDT) – Intramural teams
  • Coaches Registrations
  1. Verify the file size you are uploading is less than 3MB and the correct file format jpeg, jpg, png

Why is a credit/debit card needed to be placed on the waitlist?

This is a function of the GotSport registration system. Your credit/debit card is NOT charged, your card will ONLY be charged once YOU authorize payment when your player is removed from the waitlist.

What division will my player be in?

Player registration is by birth year (1 January – 31 December) for each registration year, this is defined by US Soccer. Please refer to IPC Details on the website for guidance.

What are days/times of games and practices?

Refer to division specific information on the website

What does my player need to play soccer?

Can a player play down a division/age group?

No, players are playing on age with their peer group

Can a player play up a division/age group?

Yes, the Player Age Group Advancement Form must be completed in Full and returned to the registrar prior to the registration. Players MUST be re-evaluated annually.

Fall – evaluation of player occurs the prior Spring season

Spring – evaluation occurs the prior Fall season.

Player must be evaluated by:  his/her coach, his/her age appropriate division leader, the division leader from the age up division, and/or the Director of Coaching, before this is approved

NOTE: This requires significant scheduling, so please do this well in advance.

Can a player play in both Intramural Soccer and Travel/Premier and higher divisions?

U10 and below, developmental level, yes.

U11 and up, NO, prohibited by LDT Intramural rules

Who is a Non-resident/Out of Town Player?

Any caregiver/parent who does not pay Town Taxes to the Town of East Fishkill.  The town assesses the fee (per player) which the club is required to collect this on their behalf.

NOTE: The town audits player registrations and then informs us of who has incorrectly stated they are resident.

Failure to pay this out of town fee, will result in a player being suspended from play until this is paid in full, in addition a fine will be levied and donated to the EFSC Scholarship Fund.

I Coach, do I have to pay the non-resident player fees for my player?

Yes, this is out with EFSC control and is levied by the Town of East Fishkill

I’m a Town of East Fishkill resident, why have I been charged the non-resident Fee?

In the billing portion of the registration process, the fees paid are listed. The non-resident fee (1) is the default, if you are a resident you can toggle the drop down menu and select 0, BEFORE submitting the registration.

EFSC Hardship Fund, how do I change this?

This is an option in the billing portion of the registration process, toggle the drop down menu and select 0 (to remove) or select a different number to increase BEFORE submitting the registration.

Why are the registration fees so high, if it’s a volunteer run club?

We endeavor to keep the costs as low as possible to ensure those who want to play, can.  However, there are costs involved even in a volunteer led program, these are just a few:

Player: Uniform, EHYSL registration, training
Coaches: Shirt, U8 and up (balls, bibs, bags etc.), training etc.
Fields: Field rental, maintenance (reseeding/feeding), lining
Equipment: Goals, nets, bumpers, etc.
Referee Fees (U7 Spring, U8 – U19)
Trainers Fees
Concessions Stand
Administrative Fees: Website, credit card/debit, banking
